Due to the transport strike in Italy scheduled for March 19, 2025, TILO services in Italy may be subject to limitations. TILO services in Switzerland will not be affected.
As repercussions are conceivable until the end of the event, passengers are invited to pay attention to the announcements in the stations and on the trains, as well as the information on the station monitors.
On March 19, 2025, on the occasion of Father's Day, Milan will have to face yet another complicated day due to a railway strike which will affect both commuters and occasional travelers. The agitation will involve several national and regional railway companies, including Trenitalia, Trenord, Italo and the rest of the Italian railway sector.
To worry travelers most will be two different concomitant protests: an eight-hour mobilization and another longer one, lasting twenty-four hours, which will partially overlap creating inevitable inconveniences.
The eight-hour strike, proclaimed by the unions ORSA Trasporti, ORSA Ferrovie and FAST Confsal, will take place on Wednesday 19 March, with interruption of train services from 9:01 a.m. to 4:59 p.m.
On the same day, commuters will also have to deal with a twenty-four-hour mobilization, promoted by the USB Lavoro Privato union, which will begin the previous evening, at 9:00 p.m. on March 18, ending only at 20:59 on 19 March.
The main inconveniences will be concentrated during the central band of the day of 19 March, but commuters will have some guaranteed hours to be able to move.
In particular, the slots from 6:00 to 9:00 in the morning and from 18:00 to 18:00 will be protected 21:00 in the evening, so as to ensure that workers can reach their workplace and return home during peak hours.
Despite these guarantees, the situation could remain critical outside protected hoursi, with possible cancellations and significant delays.
