The 41st Prize of the Adele Duttweiler Foundation was awarded on Wednesday 4 September to the Greenhope Foundation – Sports Against Cancer.

This organization, based in Ticino, gives life to moments of leisure to allow children with cancer and their families to share happy moments.

The award, of CHF 100,000, will allow Greenhope to create new activities. The award ceremony took place at the Gottlieb Duttweiler Institute in Rüschlikon.

Established 50 years ago, the Adele Duttweiler Prize is awarded every two years to a charity. Each Migros regional cooperative contributes CHF 10,000 to the achievement of the CHF 100,000 awarded to the winner.

This year it was the Greenhope Foundation that won the award, defined by Luca Cereghetti, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, as "the most important award received so far". Greenhope organizes events to give children with cancer and their families the opportunity to enjoy carefree moments together.

The money will be used to create new activities, such as street art workshops where children can create drawings from which artists will draw inspiration for their works, or days of theater with comedians or even evenings at the Knie Circus and the organization of Go-Kart races. For Jean-Marc Bovay, director of the Migros Neuchâtel-Fribourg Cooperative, responsible for this year's award, "it is an honour to be able to donate such a large sum to an organisation that cares for children with cancer and their families. I am very proud that the Migros cooperatives are helping to support a young and dynamic team that strives to offer moments of happiness to those who need it most."

The Greenhope Foundation – Sport against Cancer is dedicated to helping children with cancer and their families, supporting talented young athletes. The idea, developed by two friends, Luca Cereghetti and Claudio Andenmatten, was to transform sport into a platform of positive impact with the "Greenhope Biking against Cancer" project.

Following the incredible success achieved, they decided to move on to the establishment of the foundation in November 2015, which has since extended its activities to other sports under the motto "Sport against Cancer". Greenhope combines sporting ambition with support for sick children, promoting athletes committed to a noble cause.
