The Council federal today approved the strategic objectives for Innosuisse, the Swiss agency for the promotion of innovation, for the period 2025-2028.
The main objective remains to foster science-based innovation, supporting companies and research institutions in the implementation of innovative projects. This is what was communicated by the Federal Council.
Over the next four years, at least 50% of Innosuisse's funds will be allocated to the promotion of innovation projects, encouraging collaboration between research partners and companies. In parallel, the support tools introduced in recent years will be consolidated, including:
An important novelty is Innosuisse's involvement in the Swiss Quantum Initiative, the national program for the development of quantum sciences. The agency will provide targeted support to Swiss companies investing in innovation projects in this emerging sector, helping to strengthen Switzerland's competitiveness in the technological field.
To ensure effective use of resources, Innosuisse will increasingly focus its funding activities on impact objectives by using advanced performance measurement tools.
Innosuisse operates as an autonomous public body with its own legal personality. The Federal Council defines its strategic objectives, in line with the dispatch on the promotion of education, research and innovation for the period 2025-2028.
The government will monitor the achievement of the set goals every year, assessing the effectiveness of the measures through indicators and key data.
With these new guidelines, Switzerland remains committed to fostering a dynamic and cutting-edge innovation ecosystem, supporting companies and scientific research on their growth path.
Innosuisse is the Swiss Innovation Promotion Agency. It is a public body of the Swiss Confederation which has the task of supporting innovation based on science by helping companies and research institutions to develop and commercialize new technological and market solutions.
The agency funds innovative projects in different sectors, promoting collaboration between universities, research institutes and companies. The main objective is to transform scientific discoveries into practical applications that can generate an economic and social impact.
